When Street Signs & Music Lyrics Collide! ♥

And what a beautiful partnership they’ve formed!

Seriously, I liken it on the excellent and unexpected scales (what, you don’t have a spare pair of those lying around?!) to using pesto pasta sauce on a pizza base in replacement of the more traditionally favoured tomato paste for the first time, or wearing lace with leather: surprising, but delightful. Mildly unconventional, but massively BRILLIANT.

Presenting, dramatic television style:

When street signs and music lyrics collide!

Bonus quiz question time! What’s sadder: a) the fact that I instantly recognised that these were lyrics to The Spice Girls’ song Stop; b) that I tsk-tsked the sign and pointed out that no, the correct lyrics are “stop right NOW, thank-you very much, I need somebody with a human touch!”; or c) that I actually had to look up the word “sadder” to ensure that yes, it is definitely a real-life, commonly-accepted, non made-up word, unlike my penchant for frequently using the word “funnest” in a sentence, which is absolutely, 100% not? 1. I did the same thing with the Spice Girls sign! I first remembered the lyrics and the started singing and shaking my head at the sign XDD.

    These are just awesome.

  2. Ahhh, damn you Corrine for beating me to it!! Hahaha. I’ve been collecting photos of street signs like this and was going to compile them all for a post next week 😛

The best one is the Spice Girls reference, how good is that?!

I think I should vandalise street signs around my neighbourhood to look like these ones 🙂 xx

  3. The Diana Ross one wins for me because of the elongated a in “name”. LOL!

  4. Julie – Ha, we KNOW our Spice Girls lyrics! And thanks 😀

Alex – Aww, I’m sorry, Alex! You can still write about them? (As if you need my permission!) I actually found them by accident, I can’t remember what I was searching for on We Heart It a couple of days ago but the Diana Ross one was amongst it and bingo – idea! I’m sorry though, I know how you feel because there have been so many times where I’ve thought “darn it, *I* was going to write about that!” while reading something on the internet before, but hey – if it was something I *really* felt strongly about/wanted to say, I would usually still do it anyway, but just in my own way! 😉

    R – I know! 😀 I loved that about it, too! 😀

  5. Hahahah these are too funny!

  6. I also immediately tsked at the incorrect Spice Girls lyrics. Truly I am a child of the 90s. When I was younger I used to go to Spice Girls birthday parties, and I was always Ginger Spice for obvious reasons. Imagine my dilemma when Geri Halliwell up and left the group!

  7. This is the funnest :DD

And for the record, I knew that was a Spice Girls song too 🙂 and I noticed the mistake!

  8. hahahha, I love the hammertime one! I will now have can’t touch this stuck in my head for the rest of the night…running man anyone?

  9. Oh how I love these. Whimsy galore!

  10. Ha! These all made me giggle, esp the Supremes one! 🙂

  11. These are GREAT!! 🙂

I love signs and these are just brilliant! x

  12. LOVE this!
